Attention all college students: there are some great crafts for you to try! Now you may be focused on collecting money for books or maybe that last go around before summer ends, but don’t sleep on crafts. Crafting is a good way to use budget-friendly materials and/or recycle older pieces for cool items around your space. It doesn’t matter if you have secured a dorm room or you plan to commute from home; crafts are a great way to get into the college spirit. College Juice has a fun assortment of diy projects that are easy-to-follow and require a small amount of materials. Check out some of our favorites that you can hopefully incorporate into your college space.
5 DIY Crafts for the Dorm Room
1.) T-Shirt Pillows. Have an overflowing stash of old T-Shirts in your closet? Before you toss them in the trash, why not consider “upcycling” instead? Turn old shirts into inexpensive decorative pillows for your dorm room.
2.) Smartphone Projector. Nowadays, we can do almost anything on a smart phone: send emails, play games, and even watch movies. Sometimes, however, squinting at the small screen can leave our eyes feeling tired. Rather than watch a movie or show on the tiny screen, why not magnify it via your very own projector?
3.) Upcycled Soup Cans. A key factor in my dorm-life diet, soup cans were inexpensive and always on hand – just begging to be incorporated into a fun DIY project. With only a few budget-friendly items and little bit of your time, you’ll be turning your recycling into awesome dorm decor.
4.) Book Phone Charger. Contain those unruly phone cords with your very own Book Phone Charger. Talk about a “novel” idea!
5.) Magnetic Memo Board. A homemade magnetic memo board! Stick it right on the fridge and never forget “the little things” again!
