The Dark Knight Rises (Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment, 2012)
Summer is not summer without a good blockbuster hitting theaters. Though this summer has been a bit lackluster in the area of cinema, one movie we expect to knock it out of the park is the third (and final) Batman installment, The Dark Knight Rises. Hitting theaters this Friday (we have tickets for the midnight showing), it feels like just yesterday that we saw Christian Bale suit up as both Batman and Bruce Wayne. Christopher Nolan has done a fine job recreating the story and providing a fresh, new take on classic characters including the Joker (seriously – who can forget the late Heath Ledger’s master and Academy Award winning performance?).
