Now that we are entering the hottest days of summer, the chances of you stopping by a beach are pretty high. Can you picture it? One of our fondest memories at the shore is the ocean and it’s amazing color (that is, if you go to a beach with clear water). From the Caribbean to the Pacific, there are so many great spots that have glorious hues of green.
Sea green is a tricky shade because it’s not really just one color, but a mix of many. Some have seen darker greens while others experienced lighter touches. Perhaps this might have something to do with how the sun hits the water, but regardless, it is an awesome color to decorating the home.
Sea Green (also known as blue-green)
- Has “Healing Powers”
Use Sea Green…
- With practically everything! Sea green looks gorgeous against warm colors (think orange) as well as cooler hues (purples, fuchsias and other blues). Mix and match sea greens throughout your interior for an extra pop of color, or use it against neutral colors (whites, blacks and grays) to tone down the vibrancy without being too boring.
- Create a beach theme with recycled sea glass accents, dinnerware and glassware. Pair these with found shells, sandy neutrals and you will have yourself a great party theme.
- Nothing looks more classic than a great green or blue paired with white. Keep things fresh and crisp with faint sea green bed linens paired with whites (and/or creams).
