Perhaps you make a real attempt to follow the rules of spring cleaning, but fall off the wagon come summer? Regardless, you shouldn’t feel too discouraged as there is always time to tidy up. In honor of National Cleaning Week, we wanted to compile a list of useful articles and tips that will help you keep your home in order year round.
The 10 Commandments to Keeping a Tidy Home
.) Thou shall take pride in your home and make the promise not to misuse or abuse your home with unnecessary clutter
.) When thou seeth a mess, thou shall immediately clean it up as accidents can turn into stains and/or hard-to-clean problems
.) Thou shall commit thy ways to a weekly cleaning regimen and assign each member of the house a task (e.g. cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the bathroom, laundry)
.) Thou shall not all the sink to fill with dirty dishes and wash them by hand each evening (will save energy)
.) Thou shall not allow a pile-up of shoes and miscellaneous items near the front door. Put everything away in it’s proper place to prevent clutter
.) Thou shall immediately pack away any leftover food into storage containers (prevents bugs)
.) Thou shall take a weekly inventory of trash & recycling to prevent unfavorable aromas around the home
.) Thou shall use natural cleaning products when you can
.) Thou shall discard of received mail and publications (magazines, newspapers) shortly after reading. Failure to do so will add to the unnecessary mess in your home
