Being a bachelor can come with its own perks. A nearly limitless lifestyle, bachelors enjoy coming and going as they please without answering to anyone. Even the idea of a “bachelor pad” is a much coveted concept in the world of decorating pairing the latest technology with contemporary furniture. A well-styled pad can stir up envy amongst friends to see who has the “most tricked out” interior that will win major points with guests. But what happens when your home looks…average? Will you lose clout? Whether you have no clue on decorating or want to spruce up your home, we have some ideas to help you out. Take a look at five tips to “swag” your apartment. You will thank us later.
1.) Keep Your Color Palette Cool – In our opinion, bachelor pads look the best with cooler colors. There is something about oranges and yellows that seem too jovial for the setting. We also wouldn’t recommend red as it is a literal color of passion and can come off as “trying too hard.” After all, who wants to look like they are desperate for a date? Think Quagmire from ‘Family Guy.’ An interior full of neutrals (and/or soft colors) keeps your home airy and mature.

2.) Go 007 with Your Furnishings – James Bond always seemed to have a swagger that put him on another level. Perhaps it was his mysterious demeanor, jet-setting lifestyle or way with the ladies. Regardless, Bond embodied a well-tailored style that was classic, minimal and up kept. Like Bond, your interiors should capture the same essence. Keep your furniture layout open and uncluttered with timeless, mid-century essentials (button-tufted upholstered furniture looks great with accent, leather chairs). There is no need to over decorate with excessive room and wall décor. By keeping things “low key,” you let visitors know you have style, but are a man on the go about his business.

3.) “Ice” Your Interior – Guess what, diamonds aren’t just a girl’s best friend. If you are a fan of the “ice,” show it off in your apartment. Lighting fixtures like chandeliers and hanging pendants will enhance the luxury in your interior.Crystal (a bit flashier) and glass are great materials to use throughout your space.

4.) Every Man Needs Some Art – While most families enjoy showing off photos of their children, a bachelor should reveal his understanding of art. Choose contemporary pieces (abstract, photography, etc) that reveal unspoken traits about your character. Do you enjoy a good cigar and the nightlife? Imagery of city lights may be in order. Nowadays, more companies carry art to compliment their furnishings making art buying less complicated. You can even purchase affordable exclusives online with a company life 20×200.

5.) Finish Off with Metallics – No bachelor pad is ever complete without metallic accents. Pewter, copper, steel and gold all exude a sleekness and sophistication. Incorporate them in your dinnerware, bedding or decorative accents to enhance the wealth of your space. Practically any metallic finish will increase your pad’s swagger points.
You can of course step up your “technology game” with the latest televisions, entertainment centers and sound systems. That part of decorating your home is easy. Take a look at some of our favorite furnishings and décor for a modern, bachelor pad.
