2×2 Bath Console (West Elm, sale $279.99-$439.99)
Bath Problem #1: – My vanity is too boxy/old-fashioned
Solution: Update your cabinetry
One of the best ways to make your space sparkle is with brand new cabinetry. New cabinets will help anchor your room’s style so be sure to pick the best piece for your interior. Contemporary bathrooms look best with wall hung units, or cabinets with stainless steel legs. Consoles are our favorite unit because they are minimal in design and offer the basic necessities (sink and shelving). For those looking with a more classic taste, try incorporating a pedestal sink into your bathroom suite. They are more compact and visually “un-weight” the room.

Merola Tile Tessera Piano Nassau Stone and Glass Mosaic (Home Depot, $13.75/ea)
Bath Problem #2: – I can’t stand my tiles!
Solution: Install new flooring
Outdated tiles are a huge eyesore in the bathroom making it extremely difficult to style. How many of us have a suite full of weird salmons and sea foam greens? Take a trip to your local home improvement store for all of your affordable flooring needs. Porcelain tiles are the most durable tiles that act as perfect agents against wear and tear. Their style tends to favor the look of natural stone (compared to most ceramic tiles) without being porous. If you play your cards right, you may find tiles under $2/square foot. Talk about savings!

Bamboo Stacking Shelves (The Container Store, $11.99-$17.99ea)
Bath Problem #3: I just don’t know what to do with these walls
Solution: Paint, store and wainscot
Painting is the easiest way to bring your bathroom up to date. Choose colors that not only define your style, but also bring your bathroom to life. The next task to tackle is adding elements to your walls. We love open storage compartments that allow us to show off our towels. A few shelving units can increase your suite’s functionality while making the walls look fabulous. They also make the perfect piece to display toiletries and other decorative items. Ladders and other linear objects can also be a great storage solution (if you have the space).
Finally, add wainscoting to the base of your walls that will bring a bit of grandeur into your bathroom. It’s an easy diy project that requires a few materials, and a little bit of patience. This project alone will make your bathroom look ultra luxurious.

PJÄTTERYD Picture, Spring Blush (IKEA, $49.99)
Bath Problem #4: What if I can’t paint my walls? I am renting!
Solution: Art
No paint, no problem! Life isn’t over because you can’t paint your bathroom. You just have to find another way to bring in color. Artwork and photography offer those who can’t (or can) paint in their space color and depth. Use different frames to enhance the art’s style, or go minimal with canvas art. Just be sure to keep your art/photography away from the sink and shower. Splash!

Sedona Mirror (Crate and Barrel, $39.95)
Bath Problem #5: My bathroom has zero windows and looks too cramped
Solution: Mirrors!
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who will have the best bathroom of them all? If you aren’t in to art then try mirrors (even if you are, still try mirrors). Mirrors are not just functional, but help expand your space…visually. Use a mirror over the sink (or a medicine cabinet for hidden storage) to help with daily priming. For décor, incorporate mirrors that have a wonderful style. They can be small or made of mixed materials like metals and wood. Create a wall of mirrors by installing a few small mirrors on top of each other.
