Manhattan Blues

Todd Romano Manhattan Apartment (All Photos: Thomas Loof for Architectural Digest)

Blue is an extremely striking color that has the power to possess the senses. An electric blue is playful enough to bring out our inner child while a navy creates a stately interior. New York City interior designer Todd Romano is not afraid to display his love of blue with a swanky Manhattan pad.

Using a mixture of textures and finishes (lacquered walls, etc), his apartment models an eloquence in the blues. The partnership between warm woods and colorful accents help the blue to pop from the space.

Yellows and lime greens with with the monochromatic blue palette for a little contemporary fun.

The mix of blue materials allow for darker tones to recede into the background. One of our favorite areas in the home would have to be this mini seating area. How awesome would it be to have an intimate conversation with New York City in the background. The soft chartreuse chairs keep the room down-to-earth.

This apartment models both grace and class fusing traditional furnishings found on the Upper East Side with electrical stimulation from Downtown. Want to learn more about this apartment? Click Here to “Small Wonder” from Architectural Digest.
