Hudson Furniture has teamed up with The Thorn Tree Project in efforts to assist nomadic children in Sereolipi, Kenya. By purchasing any of their petrified wood pieces, 3% of the proceeds go to The Thorn Tree Project. Interior design can now be paired with charitable efforts.
The Thorn Tree Project is a much needed organization that provides both assistance and hope for youth in Kenyan communities. Some of their key initiatives include:
- establish preschools in outlying, nomadic communities
- build dormitories for girls and boys in each of the primary schools
- create a scholarship program for graduating students from primary schools
- improve the quality of education to guarantee academic success
